Frostbound Justice

In the boreal nation of Auroria, the isolated mill town of Thornharbor is still reeling from the settlement of a divisive school speech case when a record-breaking blizzard cuts all ties to the outside world. Police Chief Jonas Falk, a weary, diabetic inspector in the mould of Mankell, soon faces a string of brutal murders that echo the lawsuit’s fault lines. As the cold deepens and supplies dwindle, the trapped residents turn on one another in a frenzy of suspicion, forcing Falk to confront the truth that the real trial never ended—it merely moved from the courtroom to the frozen streets, where every breath carries a verdict.
