Paper-Thin Reason

In 1940s wartime Chongqing, a brilliant criminal profiler is ordered to build a psychological portrait of economist Ma Yinchu, branded a traitor for exposing regime corruption. As logic maps the "criminal mind," raw empathy becomes a contagion. When dispatched to hunt the final dissident, the profiler finds reason a brittle shield shattered by the typhoon of human conviction, and makes an irreversible choice.
