Novel Summary
In the Republic of Mercia, human rights lawyer Eleanor Vance takes on a routine religious discrimination case for a Muslim nursing home carer. She quickly discovers it is a smokescreen for a far darker secret: Kronos Biotech is using elderly dementia patients as unwitting subjects in a lethal drug trial. The crime’s blueprint traces back to a buried Cold War-era mind-control program, masterfully adapted to exploit the legal and scientific blind spots of the 21st century. As Vance battles a fortress of corporate law and high science, she must prove that what society calls genius is often murder that the law has simply not yet learned to see.
